BIOSEC-RSC Conditioning Plant


Introduction

Biogas is the gas resulting from the process of anaerobic digestion of organic waste. But as a gas, it is considered a multicomponent gas, both in its basic composition (CH4, CO2, H2, O2, N2, vapor de agua, etc.) and in its harmful components (NH3, siloxanos, COV’s, H2S, etc.).

The conditioning of biogas before it is used as fuel reduces the maintenance cost of the machines involved in this type of installation, as well as prolonging their useful life and improving the emissions of combustion exhaust gases into the atmosphere.

The components to be reduced or eliminated from the biogas flow are the following:

  • a) Water steam. Water vapour drastically decreases the PCI of the biogas, as well as facilitates the formation of corrosive acids.
  • c) Halogenated hydrocarbons. Particularly those containing chlorine and fluorine promote corrosion of internal machine parts.
  • c) Hydrogen sulphide(H2S). Prevent corrosion and avoid toxic concentrations for human beings, as well as, prevent the formation of sulphur oxides (SO2) that makes possible the formation of sulphurous acid (H2SO3) which is highly corrosive.
  • d) Siloxanes. To avoid the deposition of silica in the different internal parts of the machines, thereby eliminating the possibility of wear of parts and pieces and the loss of stability of parts that rotate at high speed.

At AIRSEC we design BioSec-RSC conditioning units tailor-made for each project, with the design and combination of our technology to adjust the moisture content (condensate separator cooler, refrigeration dryer or adsorption dryer)

The BIOSEC-RSCF conditioning unit is presented interconnected on a bedplate, consisting of:

  • Biogas/water cooler with its condensate separator.
  • CHILLSEC chiller, for the moisture content adjustment step
